Lickerish is a high quality image and video agency that syndicates for some of the world’s best photographers. Lickerish currently represents over 70 photographers and has 25,000 images available for sale worldwide. Lickerish also represents two image 2 libraries: Factory Media – Europe’s leading action sports publisher – and ICON magazine, a luxury glossy magazine with access to numerous UK celebrities and athletes. Lickerish is targeted at the US $2 billion syndication library market. The fashion/celebrity sector represents some 25% of this vast market for syndicating published images.
Lickerish also finances photo shoots and gives the talent and the photographers a percentage of the sales it makes. This approach has also generated a demand by talent management for services from Lickerish. It is good for talent because it saves time by consolidating multiple publicity objectives into one shoot, gives them control over image selection, and makes money out of something they would otherwise do for free. Film, TV, magazine and music companies also appreciate it because it simplifies their acquisition of approved publicity and marketing shots.
Lickerish has benefited from the explosion of celebrity-focused magazines around the world. It is now poised to develop a multi-media strategy that embraces video shoots and a Direct-to-Consumer approach to the market through digital channels such as mobile.
Lickerish is well-established in the UK and in Hollywood. It is owned and run by Willy Camden and Emma Carlsen. Willy Camden is a renowned photographer whose work has been featured in magazines such as Vogue and GQ over a 20 year career. He has also created advertising campaigns for Bacardi, Hugo Boss and Esprit, and worked with ad agencies such as Saatchi and Saatchi, TBWA and BBH. Emma Carlsen is an international stylist whose work has appeared in the world’s most prestigious and successful publications including Vogue, Arena, FHM , Maxim and the Times.
